Halogen bonding in dye sensitized solar cells

on Wed, 11/10/2017 - 09:54

We are pleased to announce that our latest contribution to the field of halogen bonding has been officially accepted by Nature Commun. The article, entitled "Spectroscopic Detection of Halogen Bonding Resolves Dye Regeneration in the Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell" represents a collaboration between Chantal from our group, the Berlinguette group, and Gerald Meyer's group at UNC Chapel Hill. This paper provide direct experimental evidence of the role of halogen bonding in efficient dye regeneration in a series of halogenated dyes. This creates new avenues for exploration in the search for cheap and efficient energy conversion technologies. Congrats to Chantal and the whole team for this contribution! A link to the manuscript will be provided as soon as it is available.
