First group submission to ChemRXiv

on Thu, 04/01/2018 - 13:41

ChemRxiv has been around for a little while, providing the chemistry community with its own preprint service allowing for direct distribution of manuscript drafts without relying on publishers. The Kennepohl Group is committed to supporting the initiative of decreasing the cost of knowledge by submitting manuscripts to the ChemRxiv. We recently submitted our first preprint to the ChemRxiv and it can be found here. We look forward to supporting the ChemRxiv as much as possible moving forward and encourage others to take a look and consider doing the same.

If you are interested in the ChemRxiv but aren't sure how it works. We encourage you to look at its FAQ. Of note, the vast majority of reputable publishers are accepting submission of manuscripts that have been posted to the preprint server. Noted exceptions are J. Am. Chem. Soc. and Angew. Chemie, which are currently not allowing based on the idea that the timeliness and novelty of a publication is undermined by the fact that it is already available online. The Kennepohl Group will make every effort to support ChemRxiv as a way of providing an important new tool for scientific dissemination.
