Square planar d10 complexes - really?

on Wed, 06/06/2018 - 15:46

We are pleased that our latest contribution is now available on the ChemRXiv. Weiying and Shirin's contribution, in collaboration with the Love Group, is a rather voluminous piece of work that looks at Ni(0) π-complexes and it is possible for a d10 complex to support a rigid square planar geometry. The answer is all in the ancillary ligands (in this case diphosphines) that are primarily responsible for the electron density used in π-backbonding to the π ligands. Check it out by clicking here!
